The Ride

Lions Bike for Sight 2019 is an 87-mile loop from Lolo to Hamilton and back again passing through the foothills of the Bitterroot Mountains in Pinesdale. Proceeds benefit the Montana Lions Sight and Hearing Foundation to support preservation and restoration services for people in the Missoula and Bitterroot Valleys. Sponsored by the Lions Clubs of Seeley Lake, East Missoula, Missoula, Lolo, Florence and Hamilton.

Riders on the Lions Bike for Sight are supported through multiple aid stations and a roving “sag wagon,” along with a post-ride barbeque. With friendly volunteers, and cycling along side experience and beginning cyclists, the BFS is a great ride for beginners, or as a tune-up ride for a major ride like the RATPOD.

This year, we have a route of approximately 87 miles through the Bitterroot Valley, including the foothills around Pinesdale. Support stations are provided N. Kootenai Creek Road (north of Stevensville), and at Blodgett Park (north of Hamilton). The ride begins at 7:41 am, and we begin sweeping the route at 2 pm. The after-ride barbecue closes at 3 pm.

This is an “out-and-back” ride. Riders may turn around at any point to complete the mileage they’re comfortable with. “Mile markers” are posted on the route to indicate mileage completed, or distance to aid stations and Lolo.
